Various times.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In his acclaimed one-man show, actor and playwright Ari\u2019el Stachel exposes an unexpected vulnerability with his anxiety-riddled quest to belong as an Arab Jew living with obsessive-compulsive disorder.<\/p>\n<p>The Tony-winning <a href=\"https:\/\/tisch.nyu.edu\/drama\/news\/tisch-drama-alumnus-ari-el-stachel--13-wins-tony\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cThe Band\u2019s Visit\u201d<\/a> star takes on myriad characters (and voices) to illustrate his coming-of-age journey and all of its sweat-drenched highs and lows.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOther,\u201d a 90-minute production directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/dramaticarts.usc.edu\/tony-taccone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tony Taccone<\/a>, marks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mslachanze.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LaChanze<\/a>\u2018s first foray as a lead producer. The Emmy and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=g4AqyKCLIdk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tony<\/a>-winning actress, singer and director has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2023\/09\/30\/lachanze-concert-perelman-performing-arts-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">co-produced Broadway hits<\/a> such as \u201cBuena Vista Social Club,\u201d \u201cPurpose,\u201d \u201cThe Outsiders\u201d and \u201cKimberly Akimbo,\u201d but Stachel\u2019s powerful story was the perfect opportunity for her to take the reins.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI felt that this project had the ability to create a conversation that would take the shame out of mental health\u2026 and his story is so universal,\u201d she told the Daily News. \u201cYes, it is set on a young Israeli man, but it really is a play that everyone can see themselves in, whether you \u2026 align with his ability to feel like he\u2019s othered, where he has so many different parts of himself that make up who he is, or if you go into the sadness of the fact that this young man had to hide who he was most of his life and took on other personas: He was white, he was Black, he was Middle Eastern, he was everything except who he was in terms of his lineage and his ethnicity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The story also \u201cspeaks to the moment and it speaks to the time,\u201d\u00a0which makes it relatable, LaChanze said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the other part of it that I love: It\u2019s so timely. I mean, he talks about anxiety.
