American Airlines\u00a0is slated to launch a seasonal, nonstop service from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to\u00a0Sun Valley, Idaho\u00a0(SUN) at the end of 2025.<\/p>\n

Flights will launch Dec. 18 and will run through April 6, 2026, allowing Arizona travelers to experience winter activities into the spring. The small Idaho mountain town is \u201cwhere wilderness meets community and culture,\u201d according to VisitSunValley.<\/p>\n

The vacation destination is well-known for its winter sports activities such as skiing, snowboarding and ice skating, even hailed as\u00a0\u201cNordic Town, USA\u201d\u00a0for its commendable Nordic ski terrain.\u00a0The area is also popular for mountain biking and fly fishing.<\/p>\n

Sun Valley is now the third Idaho destination American has added to its network, along with Boise and Idaho Falls. While other airlines offer flights from Phoenix to Sun Valley with connections, this marks the first nonstop route between Sky Harbor and Sun Valley.\u00a0United currently offers\u00a0direct flights to Sun Valley from several other major U.S. metros including Los Angeles, Denver and Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n
