SAN ANTONIO \u2014 The first group of gorillas have been delivered to the San Antonio Zoo and we have a sneak peak at the new stars before their big debut.<\/p>\n

Three female gorillas, Andi, Merry, and Anaka recently made the move from the Atlanta zoo as part of the Gorilla Species Survival Plan as well as the highly-anticipated opening of the Congo Falls habitat.<\/p>\n

On Thanksgiving, the zoo also welcomed Ajari, a 25-year-old male western lowland gorilla. This marks the return of western lowland gorillas to San Antonio for the first time in 35 years.<\/p>\n

Congo Falls is set to open at 10:00 a.m. on Dec. 13. In total, the zoo says the new habitat will open with 7 western lowland gorillas.
