{"id":410113,"date":"2025-11-28T07:24:19","date_gmt":"2025-11-28T07:24:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/410113\/"},"modified":"2025-11-28T07:24:19","modified_gmt":"2025-11-28T07:24:19","slug":"people-fill-neptune-beach-streets-for-40th-petesgiving-celebration-at-petes-bar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/410113\/","title":{"rendered":"People fill Neptune Beach streets for 40th Petesgiving celebration at Pete\u2019s Bar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 Crowds in turkey hats filled the downtown streets Thanksgiving morning as Neptune Beach marked the 40th Petesgiving and unveiled Pete Jensen Way, a newly designated portion of First Street honoring the longtime town marshal and owner of Pete\u2019s Bar.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Mayor Cori Bylund pulled a cloth from a street sign to reveal the name amid cheers, calling the moment a celebration of a local tradition that draws neighbors and visitors each year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Pete Jensen Way was named for Pete Jensen, who served the town in several roles over the years, including town marshal, tax collector, assistant fire chief and acting town clerk, and who owned Pete\u2019s Bar, officials said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Many attendees embraced the holiday spirit with turkey hats and costumes.
