SPCA of Texas presents its 35th annual events at NorthPark Center mall, 8687 N. Central Expressway. \u201cBark & Build\u201d showcases exclusive, state-of-the-art dog homes and cat condos, designed and created in collaboration with American Institute of Architects Dallas and TEXO, The Construction Association. The \u201cAdoption Pavilion\u201d will feature animals of all ages and sizes available for adoption and holiday merchandise for people and pets.<\/p>\n

Dec. 1: \u2018Together We Rise\u2019 World AIDS Day commemoration<\/strong>
A coalition of AIDS service organizations present Together We Rise, a World AIDS Day commemoration service, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Cathedral of Hope, 5910 Cedar Springs Road. The event includes a keynote panel on How We Heal moderated by DR Hanson, a blessing by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, performances by Turtle Creek Chorale and the Women\u2019s Chorus of Dallas and remarks by state Rep. Venton Jones. There will also be tables hosted by partner organizations offering education, resources and support.<\/p>\n
CAN Community Health hosts Threads of Hope, a World AIDS Day event featuring a film screening, interactive activities and recognition awards, from 2-4 p.m. at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St. in Fort Worth. Admission is free.<\/p>\n
Dallas drag legend Cassie Nova hosts her annual fundraising event, Cassie\u2019s Freakmas Holiday Party, starting at 8 p.m. at JR\u2019s Bar & Grill, 3923 Cedar Springs Road. The party includes raffles and auctions and is open to everyone age 21 and older. Proceeds benefit the Secret Santa program of the Persionalized Learning Preparatory program at the JW Ray Learning Center, formerly Sam Houston Elementary School, to make sure kids who might not otherwise get a Christmas gift get to celebrate presents from Santa.<\/p>\n
