Prior to kick-off in Friday\u2019s Egg Bowl matchup between No. 7 Ole Miss<\/a><\/strong> and Mississippi State<\/a><\/strong>, Lane Kiffin<\/a><\/strong> revealed some alarming news.<\/p>\n

At 3:00 AM, Mississippi State<\/strong> fans apparently broke into the Rebels\u2019 locker room and took off with quarterback Trinidad Chambliss<\/a><\/strong>\u2018 jersey. Cameras in the locker room, set up by Ole Miss <\/strong>equipment manager Ken Crain<\/strong>, caught the act in 4K.<\/p>\n

Lane Kiffin in a SEC Network interview says Mississippi State fans broke into their locker room at 3 a.m. and stole quarterback Trinidad Chambliss\u2019 jersey. They know this because they set up cameras in the dressing room.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can hear these fans already out here,\u201d Kiffin told ESPN\u2018s Marty Smith<\/strong> on \u2018SEC This Morning\u2018. \u201cThis will be a great game today. It\u2019s a very passionate rivalry. I mean, shoot, at 10:00 PM last night, luckily our great Ken Crain<\/strong> (our equipment manager) put secret cameras in the locker room so we could watch Mississippi State<\/strong> break into our locker room and steal things.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe reported it to Mississippi State<\/strong> and they said \u2018we\u2019ll put security on it\u2019. And how about this? At 3:00 AM in the morning, they break in and take Trinidad (Chambliss)<\/strong>\u2018s jersey! Guess you can expect nothing less from these people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mississippi State<\/strong> is trying everything it can to get into the head of Chambliss, who has been one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC this season. The Ferris State<\/strong> transfer, who opened the year as Austin Simmons<\/a><\/strong>\u2018 backup quarterback, boasts 2,657 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He\u2019s also rushed for 444 yards and six more scores.<\/p>\n

Nick Saban offers advice to Lane Kiffin amid job uncertainty<\/p>\n

The Rebels head into Friday\u2019s rivalry game needing losses from both Alabama<\/a><\/strong> (Auburn<\/a><\/strong>) and Texas A&M<\/a><\/strong> (Texas<\/a><\/strong>) on Saturday. With a win and losses by those two teams, Ole Miss<\/strong> would face Georgia<\/a><\/strong> in the SEC Championship Game with an auto-bid to the College Football Playoff on the line.<\/p>\n

Also with a win, Ole Miss<\/strong> would finish the regular season with an 11-1 record, its best in program history. This comes as Kiffin continues to deal with rumors linking him to job openings at both Florida<\/a><\/strong> and LSU<\/a><\/strong>. Legendary head coach Nick Saban<\/a><\/strong>, who Kiffin coached under at Alabama<\/a><\/strong>, offered some advice to the Ole Miss<\/strong> head man earlier this week prior to the Egg Bowl.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow you handle disruptions and distractions like this determines the maturity of your team and their ability to stay focused on the things that matter,\u201d Saban said. \u201cThat\u2019s what maturity is \u2013 can you stay focused on the things that matter? And what people are saying on the internet doesn\u2019t really mean anything. So, stay focused on the things that matter, which is how you play.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou want to play in the NFL someday, you want to get drafted, you want to make more money next year as a college player, go play good. That\u2019s what you need to do. So that\u2019s what you need to focus on. Not where your coach is going to go, not what\u2019s happening, not what people are saying \u2013 and nobody knows the answer to that. It isn\u2019t an easy thing to control outside noise, but that\u2019s the way I always tried to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
