PHILADELPHIA<\/strong> – The Wanamaker Light Show shined bright<\/a> for the community Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n There were concerns that the show would not happen after the iconic Macy\u2019s in Center City closed their doors in March.<\/p>\n What they’re saying:<\/p>\n “I\u2019m just glad it\u2019s here, I\u2019m just glad they were able to keep it going,” said Wendell Hill of Overbrook.<\/p>\n Thanks to hard work from the Philadelphia<\/a> Visitor Center and other local organizations allowed the lights to shine and a Philadelphia tradition to continue on for another year.<\/p>\n SUGGESTED: <\/strong>Thousands celebrate 106 years of Philly’s Thanksgiving parade<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n “It\u2019s so Philly isn\u2019t it? We\u2019re so nostalgic. Like we love to save stuff, especially our traditions, so this feels like a Philly move for this holiday season,” said Kathryn Ott Lovell, the President & CEO of the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation.<\/p>\n What’s next:<\/p>\n Ott Lovell says the light show is going to go dark for the next two years because the Wanamaker Building has to have many renovations, but they hope the show can come back for many years to come.\u00a0<\/p>\n This year’s shows will go on until Christmas Eve.
