BlackRock rightly slammed Lander\u2019s hissy fit as \u201canother instance of the politicization of public pension funds, which undermines the retirement security of hardworking New Yorkers.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Lander\u2019s insistence on performative virtue-signaling, instead of acting in the best interest of 800,000 current and former city workers (and the taxpayers who ultimately guarantee public pensions) is another reason to cheer his departure from the city payroll.<\/p>\n

The simply truth is that \u201cdecarbonizing\u201d pension funds won\u2019t do a darned thing to save the planet, but only reduce the returns on the funds\u2019 investments.<\/p>\n
An honest comptroller wouldn\u2019t strive to waste public monies on ideological hobby horses.<\/p>\n
Cross your fingers that Lander\u2019s Dec 31 exit from the comptroller\u2019s office will mark the end of his disgraceful political career.<\/p>\n
And pray that Democratic voters don\u2019t entertain this preposterous fraud\u2019s expected challenge to Rep.
