He did not say when or how he intended to go to the frontlines of the war against Russia. <\/p>\n<p>Former top adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told The Post he is headed to the front lines \u2014 hours after submitting his resignation in the wake of a raid on his own home. REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI served Ukraine and was in Kyiv on February 24, 2024,\u201d he wrote, referencing the day Russia launched its full-scale war. \u201cMaybe we\u2019ll see each other again. Glory to Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yermak did not give further details about how he would go to the frontlines and whether he would be joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been desecrated, and my dignity hasn\u2019t been protected, despite having been in Kyiv since February 24, 202[2],\u201d he said. \u201cTherefore, I don\u2019t want to create problems for Zelensky; I\u2019m going to the front.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m disgusted by the filth directed at me, and even more disgusted by the lack of support from those who know the truth,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The messages came after a day of upheaval for Yermak, who had led Ukraine\u2019s delegation negotiating for Kyiv on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/25\/world-news\/ukraine-peace-plan-expected-to-be-rejected-by-russia-likely-extending-war-until-after-christmas-at-minimum-sources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ukraine\u2019s peace plan<\/a>. href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/23\/world-news\/zelensky-thanks-trump-for-support-after-criticism-but-tries-to-distance-ukraine-from-us-peace-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zelensky<\/a>\u00a0has already shuffled his negotiating team tasked with working on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/26\/opinion\/ukraine-peace-deal-exposes-europes-total-irrelevance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">peace plan<\/a>\u00a0with the US.<\/p>\n<p>Remaining on the team is Ukrainian\u00a0Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, who convinced Witkoff that Ukraine would capitulate to a heavily Russia-leaning 28-point peace plan that later proved unacceptable to Zelensky, senior US officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Umerov, who has denied giving initial approval to the plan and swapping out the provision, spoke with FBI Director Kash Patel ahead of his meeting with Witkoff.\u00a0It is unclear why that meeting took place, or whether he intends to do so again when he returns with the delegation this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The raid on Yermak came after Ukraine\u2019s anti-graft watchdog spent 15 months digging into a brazen shakedown dubbed \u201cOperation Midas,\u201d uncovering a scheme that allegedly forced Energoatom contractors to cough up 10 to 15 percent kickbacks \u2014 or risk getting blacklisted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to the front and am prepared for any reprisals,\u201d Andriy Yermak told The Post in an impassioned text message Friday night. \u201cI am an honest and decent person.\u201d REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>Investigators say the crooks skimmed nearly $100 million off the top.<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian Ambassador to the US Olha Stefanishyna told The Post that \u201csearches at his home were made, but no procedural actions followed Yermak\u2019s resignation allowed Kyiv to keep the faith of the Ukrainian public as it continues a difficult phase of peace talks with the US to end the war with Russia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am grateful to Andriy that Ukraine\u2019s position on the path of negotiations was always presented as required: it was always a patriotic position,\u201d Zelensky said. \u201cBut I want there to be no rumors and speculation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026 When all attention is focused on diplomacy and defense in a war, internal strength is required,\u201d he said.<a
