Christmas tree farms are hard to come by in the desert, but that doesn\u2019t stop Arizona families committed to tradition from finding the perfect one.<\/p>\n
The day after Thanksgiving is opening day, and the busiest day for Valley View Christmas Trees<\/a>, which sources fresh trees from the Pacific Northwest.<\/p>\n There\u2019s a lot to consider when shopping for the centerpiece of the Christmas holiday. It\u2019s always fun, even if everyone doesn\u2019t agree.<\/p>\n \u201cI wanted this one to my right and I was overruled by my family. So, that\u2019s nothing new in my house, so we went with the other one,\u201d said Paul Layeux, who went to a tree lot in Chandler with his wife and two sons.<\/p>\n Despite some differences of opinion, everyone is on board with the real deal.<\/p>\n \u201cWe love the smell of it,\u201d said Laura Tait, who went to a tree lot in Chandler with her husband and two sons.<\/p>\n \u201cSentimental value,\u201d said Paul Layeux.<\/p>\n \u201cIt shows a lot more Christmas spirit than a fake one,\u201d said 9-year-old Joshua Tait.<\/p>\n There\u2019s something special about passing down traditions that create Christmas magic for the next generation.<\/p>\n \u201cIt means a lot to me. It may not mean as much to them right now, but hopefully one day when they have families of their own they\u2019ll look to get a real Christmas tree,\u201d said Paul Layeux.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s like my favorite part of Christmas like is hanging ornaments,\u201d said his 10-year-old son Elliott Layeux.<\/p>\n Some parents find ways to include life lessons along the way.<\/p>\n The Taits get two trees: one for the living room and one for the playroom.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s their own tree that they learn to take care of, put up the lights on,\u201d said Laura Tait.<\/p>\n Amid the hustle and bustle, families hope to keep the reason for the season top of mind.<\/p>\n \u201cI definitely hope that most people don\u2019t have coal in their stockings,\u201d said her 9-year-old son Joshua Tait.<\/p>\n See a spelling or grammatical error in our story?
