One expert rescue.<\/p>\n<p>When a construction worker fell through a manhole cover, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYPDSpecialops?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@NYPDSpecialops<\/a> ESU secured the scene, worked with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FDNY?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@FDNY<\/a> to safely reach him, and get them medical care. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3Gfr3z4WNV\">pic.twitter.com\/3Gfr3z4WNV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NYPD NEWS (@NYPDnews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYPDnews\/status\/1994452612318474547?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">November 28, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Bodycam footage released by the NYPD shows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/jointheboldest\/overview\/emergency-service-unit.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emergency Service Unit<\/a> officers set up a temporary tripod frame and a winch.<\/p>\n<p>They then lowered an officer down into the darkened hole to find the construction worker on the ground below. Rungs on the side of the underground tunnel had rotted away near the bottom, making it difficult to climb down, someone said on the video.<\/p>\n<p>ESU officers lowered down an FDNY firefighter and then a backboard before hoisting the injured construction worker back up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re good\u2026he\u2019s good,\u201d an officer can be heard saying as the worker was handed off to city emergency medical technicians and paramedics.<\/p>\n<p>EMS rushed the man to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cuimc.columbia.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Presbyterian\/ Columbia University Irving Medical Center<\/a> where he was treated and released.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne unexpected drop.
