Trinidad Chambliss<\/a><\/strong>\u2018 introduction to the Egg Bowl<\/strong> rivalry came courtesy of an early morning heist after a pair of Mississippi State<\/a><\/strong> fans allegedly broke into the visiting locker room inside Starkville\u2019s Davis Wade Stadium<\/strong> and stole the Ole Miss<\/a><\/strong> quarterback\u2019s game jersey. <\/p>\n

Cameras wisely installed by Rebels equipment manager Ken Crain<\/strong> caught the prank in action, though they were somewhat unnecessary since the hooligans posted their criminality on social media, later shared by Old Row Sports<\/a> just before kickoff Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe team has video of two fans entering their locker room at around 3 am \u2013 one himself videoing the break-in \u2013 and walking out with\u00a0Trinidad Chambliss<\/strong>\u2018 game jersey,\u201d\u00a0Yahoo Sports!\u00a0Ross Dellenger<\/strong>\u00a0wrote on X prior to the Noon ET kickoff. \u201cAuthorities have surveillance of the vehicle as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, it was all four naught as the Rebels had a backup jersey for Chambliss, who threw for 359 yards and four touchdowns in the 38-19 win Friday afternoon, likely securing No. 7 Ole Miss (11-1, 7-1 SEC) the program\u2019s first-ever College Football Playoff<\/strong> win in the process.<\/p>\n

Following the game, Chambliss admitted he initially found some humor in the prank, but also echoed Rebels coach Lane Kiffin<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s earlier comments and condemned it as \u201cvery disrespectful.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it was kind of funny, but it\u2019s very disrespectful, honestly,\u201d Chambliss said postgame, according to On3\u2019s Jake Thompson<\/a>. \u201cIt kind of shows you what kind of school Mississippi State is. They\u2019ve always had brawls and fights and whatnot. We can\u2019t get too caught up in that, but that was very disrespectful.\u201d<\/p>\n

It appears like Ole Miss and Chambliss eventually recovered the stolen jersey, based on a postgame tweet from Ole Miss fan Tyler Jordan<\/strong>. Check it out below<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Earlier Friday, Kiffin told ESPN\u2019s Marty Smith<\/strong> about the early-morning heist on the SEC Network\u2019s pregame show SEC This Morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will be a great game today. It\u2019s a very passionate rivalry. I mean, shoot, at 10 p.m. last night, luckily our great\u00a0(equipment manager) Ken Crain<\/strong> put secret cameras in the locker room so we could watch\u00a0Mississippi State<\/strong>\u00a0break into our locker room and steal things,\u201d Kiffin told Smith. \u201cWe reported it to\u00a0Mississippi State<\/strong>\u00a0and they said \u2018We\u2019ll put security on it.\u2019 And how about this? At 3 am in the morning, they break in and take\u00a0Trinidad (Chambliss)<\/strong>\u2018s jersey! Guess you can expect nothing less from these people.\u201d<\/p>\n
