The festivities <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/11\/macys-thanksgiving-day-parade-ratings-record-2024-1236190192\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">outperformed last year\u2019s parade<\/a> by 8%, or 2.5 million people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe original 8:30 a.m. ET airing on NBC drew 25.4 million viewers, becoming the most-watched entertainment telecast in nearly seven years (second to ABC\u2019s airing of the 2019 Academy Awards).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn the 18-49 demo, the parade\u2019s initial airing stands as the highest-rated entertainment telecast in five years since NBC\u2019s 2020 Thanksgiving Day Parade.
