Annual Christmas Parade Marches Sunday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanksgiving is behind us and Christmas is right around the corner, so Hollywood will get into the holiday spirit Sunday with the 93rd annual Hollywood Christmas Parade.<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of celebrities and local officials are expected to take part in the 3.2-mile procession, which starts at 6 p.m. and will move west on Hollywood Boulevard from Orange Drive to Vine Street, then heading south to Sunset Boulevard and west on Sunset back to Orange.<\/p>\n<p>Actor Luke Wilson, known for roles in films including \u201cLegally Blonde,\u201d \u201cOld School,\u201d \u201cIdiocracy\u201d and \u201cThe Royal Tenenbaums,\u201d will serve as the parade\u2019s grand marshal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m honored to serve as the grand marshal of this year\u2019s Hollywood Christmas Parade joining an esteemed list of Hollywood legends, and excited to support Marine Toys for Tots to bring joy to children in need this holiday season,\u201d Wilson said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Actor Anthony Anderson, who starred on the ABC comedy \u201cblack-ish,\u201d will be recognized as the parade\u2019s Humanitarian of the Year for his work with various nonprofit organizations. Parade organizers noted his work organizing the charitable Anthony Anderson Celebrity Golf Classic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so thrilled to be honored with the humanitarian award for this year\u2019s Hollywood Christmas Parade,\u201d Anderson said in a statement. \u201cThis is a tremendous honor and I am so thankful to be acknowledged for my charity work by such a respected establishment in the Hollywood community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among those scheduled to perform during the parade are ventriloquist Terry Fator, magician Mai Wynn, the Gay Men\u2019s Chorus of Los Angeles and singers Anna Azerli, Liz Lentz, Melinda Lindler and Sarah Reeves.<\/p>\n<p>The parade will feature various film, television and stage celebrities, along with seven bands, nine large character balloons, seven floats, dozens of movie cars and an appearance by Santa Claus.<\/p>\n<p>Among the celebrities expected to take part are singer\/actress Thelma Houston, Tori Spelling, Brian Austin Green, Cesar Millan, Ian Zierling, Deidre Hall, Kate Linder and Oliva d\u2019Abo.<\/p>\n<p>The parade will not be televised live, but will be recorded and aired on The CW on Dec. 12.<\/p>\n<p>The telecast will be hosted by Erik Estrada and Laura McKenzie, and co-hosted by Elizabeth Stanton and Montel Williams.<\/p>\n<p>Previous grand marshals of the Christmas Parade have included Gene Autry, Charlton Heston, Bob Hope, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Pickford, James Stewart, Walter Matthau, John Wayne, Olivia Newton-John, Susan Lucci and Dwayne Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>The parade has been held every year since 1928, except from 1942 to 1944 due to World War II, and in 2020, when it was canceled because of the pandemic. When it was first held in 1928, it was known as the \u201cSanta Claus Lane Parade.\u201d Comedian Joe E.
