Memorial Health System in Abilene and Lindsborg Community Hospital were\u00a0 both recognized with 2025 Performance Leadership Awards from The Chartis Center for Rural Health as\u00a0 part of National Rural Health Day on November 20.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Both hospitals earned Top Quartile recognition in Patient Perspective, reflecting strong patient\u00a0 experience performance compared to rural hospitals nationwide. In addition, Lindsborg Community\u00a0 Hospital received a Top Quartile Performance Leadership Award in Quality, further highlighting its\u00a0 clinical excellence.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The annual Performance Leadership Awards are based on results from the Chartis Rural Hospital\u00a0 Performance INDEX, a comprehensive benchmarking tool used across the country to evaluate rural\u00a0 hospital performance. INDEX results are relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems, hospital\u00a0 associations and state offices of rural health to assess performance in areas critical to hospital\u00a0 operations, finance and community care.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThese recognitions reflect the commitment, professionalism and compassion of our teams,\u201d\u00a0 said Kimberly Haverly, Administrator at Memorial Health System. \u201cEvery day, our staff works to provide patient-centered, accessible care close to home, and this recognition underscores those efforts.\u201d Lindsborg Community Hospital Administrator, Mark Rooker, echoed the sentiment. \u201cThis\u00a0recognition places LCH among the top quartile of rural and Critical Access Hospitals nationwide and\u00a0 reflects the dedication of our entire team \u2014 from physicians and nurses, to support staff and volunteers\u00a0 \u2014 who work each day to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our community. Earning awards in\u00a0 both Quality and Patient Perspective demonstrates that our commitment goes beyond clinical\u00a0 excellence. It speaks to the personal, patient-centered experience that defines who we are as a hospital.”<\/p>\n

Michael Topchik, executive director of the Chartis Center for Rural Health, said the awards\u00a0 reflect the excellence found across rural communities.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe areas of quality, outcomes and patient perspective are cornerstones of health care delivery\u00a0 across rural America, and this year\u2019s Performance Leadership Award recipients are establishing a\u00a0 standard of excellence for their rural peers to follow,\u201d Topchik said. \u201cWe are delighted to shine a\u00a0 spotlight on such strong performance and honor the achievement of these hospitals on National Rural\u00a0 Health Day.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Both Memorial Health System and Lindsborg Community Hospital are affiliates of Salina Regional Health Center in a partnership that supports local access to care and enhances specialty and\u00a0 service options across the region. The shared affiliation presents the opportunity to jointly celebrate this\u00a0 achievement and demonstrate the strength of health care collaboration across central Kansas.\u00a0<\/p>\n
