Police said a man was found shot and killed Nov. 29 in north Phoenix.<\/p>\n
At about 1:50 a.m., police responded to a welfare check near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Road, where they found a man with “multiple gunshot wounds,” according to Sgt. Jen Zak, spokesperson for the Phoenix Police Department.<\/p>\n
The man, who was not identified, was pronounced dead on location by the Phoenix Fire Department, Zak said.<\/p>\n
According to Zak, the shooting was being investigated as a homicide.<\/p>\n
It was not immediately clear what led up to the welfare check or whether any suspects were identified.<\/p>\n
Zak said 19th Avenue just north of Thunderbird was temporarily closed while investigators processed the scene, but the roadway has since cleared.<\/p>\n
