Tessa Thompson<\/a>, who plays Valkyrie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, might be taking a break from superheroics while starring in Nia DaCosta\u2019s Hedda (in theaters now), but that doesn\u2019t mean she\u2019d jump at the chance to return to the MCU when duty calls. According to Thompson, she\u2019d love to rejoin the MCU if the call comes, and what would make that opportunity sweeter is doing so alongside someone she admires.<\/p>\n

Thompson reveals what would bring her back to the MCU<\/p>\n

While speaking with\u00a0Entertainment Weekly<\/a>\u00a0at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, the outlet asked Thompson, \u201cWhat is Valkyrie\u2019s future in the MCU?\u201d Thompson responded by saying, \u201ccall Kevin Feige,\u201d referring to Marvel\u2019s head honcho, who oversees the MCU\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really like playing the character, and I like her,\u201d she said about playing the Asgardian warrior who made appearances in\u00a0Thor: Ragnarok<\/a>,\u00a0Thor: Love and Thunder, Avengers: Endgame, and The Marvels. \u201cWhat\u2019s so fun about those films and why there is still an audience appetite is the combination of characters, and how they change in relation to each other,\u201d she added. \u201cSo there\u2019s tons of things I love about Valkyrie, but it\u2019s about Valkyrie in relation to\u00a0who.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thompson reveals which MCU cast member she admires<\/p>\n

As far as who she\u2019d like to conquer the MCU alongside, Thompsons told EW, \u201cthe idea of getting to play with my friend Pedro Pascal,\u201d would be cool. Pascal made his MCU debut this year as Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. \u201cIt\u2019s real playtime, and exploring that with people you admire,\u201d she said about teaming up with Pascal. \u201cYou stretch different muscles, it\u2019s really fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Who stars alongside Thompson in Nia DaCosta\u2019s Hedda<\/p>\n

Tessa Thompson currently stars in Nia DaCosta\u2019s adaptation of Henrik Ibsen\u2019s\u00a0Hedda Gabler (titled Hedda), focusing on Ibsen\u2019s renowned stage drama from 1891, which is reimagined epically and emotionally. Nina Hoss, Imogen Poots, Nicholas Pinnock, Tom Bateman, Finbar Lynch, and Mirren Mack join Thompson as primary cast members. Hedda currently boasts a 90% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>, based on 137 reviews.<\/p>\n
