OAKLEAF \u2013 No matter where you go on Saturday, Dec. 13, expect a lot of holiday cheer \u2013 and traffic.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Especially around Oakleaf.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The\u00a0third annual Oakleaf Christmas Parade, hosted by Oakleaf Community Events, will\u00a0traverse through the Oakleaf Plantation area, spreading holiday cheer and community spirit.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, it comes with some concerns. Added\u00a0with\u00a0other events, it will stretch county resources and\u00a0the\u00a0patience of some revelers due to limited parking.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The parade route\u00a0starts at\u00a0the Oakleaf Village Amenity Center, 845\u00a0Oakleaf Plantation Pkwy.,\u00a0right at\u00a0the roundabout, and\u00a0ends\u00a0at Oakleaf High, 4035 Plantation Oaks Blvd.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Since the route includes\u00a0the Millstone Village Condominiums and the gated Briar Oaks Community, parking off Oakleaf Plantation Parkway\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0allowed because the roadways must be kept clear so emergency vehicles can\u00a0pass.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Food trucks and vendors will set up, and local businesses, schools, churches, community\u00a0groups\u00a0and residents will\u00a0stage the parade\u00a0at\u00a0the amenities center at 4 p.m.\u00a0The parade will start at 6:30 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n
To\u00a0participate\u00a0in the parade, register by Dec. 1\u00a0at the Oakleaf Community\u00a0Events\u2019\u00a0Facebook page.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is bracing for its busiest day in history. In addition to the Oakleaf parade, the agency will also have to\u00a0monitor\u00a0parades in Middleburg, Keystone Heights, Penney\u00a0Farms\u00a0and the Whitey\u2019s Fish Camp Boat Parade.\u00a0<\/p>\n
