The Philadelphia Eagles have a prime in-house candidate to replace the heavily scrutinized Offensive Coordinator<\/a>, Kevin Patulo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

His name is Scot Loeffler, and he is the current Quarterback Coach in Philly<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He has years of coaching experience; most recently, he was the Head Coach at Bowling Green (2019-2024). Scot has also been the Offensive Coordinator and QB Coach at Temple<\/a> (2011), OC and QB Coach at Auburn (2012), OC and QB Coach at Virginia Tech<\/a> (2013-2015), and the same at Boston College<\/a> (2016-2018). So he definitely has the experience that qualifies him for the promotion.<\/p>\n

The question lies with promoting from within, which hasn\u2019t worked out very well so far, Coach Sirianni, in his 10 years in Philadelphia.<\/strong>\"\"<\/a>Credit: Kyle Ross-Imagn Images<\/p>\n

Brian Johnson was promoted in 2023 to replace OC Shane Steichen (Current HC in Indy) after the Super Bowl run in 2022. Johnson started off strong in 2023; however, the team collapsed offensively down the stretch and was one-and-done in the playoffs, and was subsequently fired in the off-season. Current OC Kevin Patullo was promoted from within this off-season<\/a>, replacing Kellen Moore (current HC in New Orleans), who helped bring a 2nd Super Bowl victory to Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Kevin Patullo, through 12 weeks (11 games), has yet to establish any consistent rushing attack<\/a>. The offensive line only lost one starter in free agency this past offseason, but they have been battling some injuries all year. They have particularly been bad at run blocking on the interior of the line, allowing defenders to hit and tackle Barkley, Hurts, and company time and time again.<\/p>\n

Patullo also hasn\u2019t been very diverse in play-calling in the passing attack. While KP definitely has the talent, speed, and experience to do so at his disposal.<\/p>\n

Coach Sirianni has recently said he has no current plans<\/a> to replace the offensive play caller in Philly.<\/strong><\/p>\n

However, Nick may want to reconsider that mindset because sooner or later, Howie Roseman will come a-calling, and heads will ultimately roll, and Nick\u2019s might be the one lying right next to Patullo\u2019s.<\/strong><\/p>\n
