{"id":414706,"date":"2025-11-30T08:43:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-30T08:43:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/414706\/"},"modified":"2025-11-30T08:43:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-30T08:43:11","slug":"southern-university-hires-marshall-faulk-as-next-head-coach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/414706\/","title":{"rendered":"Southern University hires Marshall Faulk as next head coach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pro Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk has parlayed one year of college coaching as an assistant into a head-coaching job.<\/p>\n<p>Southern University has announced that it has hired Faulk as the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SouthernUsports\/status\/1994948122867532066?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">school\u2019s new head coach<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Faulk, 52, spent 2025 as the running backs coach at Colorado, with fellow Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.<\/p>\n<p>A press conference has been set for Monday, December 1.<\/p>\n<p>Faulk, the second overall pick in the 1994 draft, played for the Colts and Rams. He was the NFL offensive rookie of the year, a three-time NFL offensive player of the year, the 2000 NFL MVP, a three-time first-team All-Pro, a three-time second-team All-Pro, and a seven-time Pro Bowler. He won a Super Bowl ring in 1999 with the Rams.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s a member of the Colts\u2019 Ring of Honor.
