Law enforcement had told Pavia to remove the flag, the outlet reported, citing a police report.<\/p>\n<p>Javier Pavia was arrested and charged with public intoxication in Knox County, Tennessee, on Nov. 29, 2025. Knox County Sheriff<\/p>\n<p>Pavia allegedly slurred his words and was unsteady on his feet during the exchange, the arresting officer claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was also extremely verbally combative with event staff and myself,\u201d an arrest report obtained by the outlet read.<\/p>\n<p>Pavia was booked in Knox County Jail on Sunday and released on his own recognizance, according to jail records viewed by The Post.<\/p>\n<p>Javier Pavia and his older brother, Roel, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/01\/sports\/diego-pavias-brothers-arrested-for-public-intoxication-resisting-arrest-after-vanderbilt-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">were jailed in August <\/a>during Vanderbilt\u2019s 45-3 rout over Charleston Southern.<\/p>\n<p>Police were called to the school\u2019s FirstBank Stadium at around 9:20 p.m. after reports of a belligerent fan annoying fans and throwing food, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsmv.com\/2025\/09\/01\/brothers-vanderbilt-quarterback-diego-pavia-arrested-during-saturdays-game\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WSMV reported.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Diego Pavia celebrates with fans after defeating the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville on Nov. 29, 2025. Randy Sartin-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>Javier Pavia was spotted by officers and told to leave the stadium, but refused and started resisting arrest until he was placed in the back of a police car.<\/p>\n<p>Roel Pavia confronted the officers during the arrest and pushed one of the officers to stop his brother from being arrested.<\/p>\n<p>The siblings were charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest in Nashville.<\/p>\n<p>Roel, 26, was hit with an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sci.ccc.nashville.gov\/Search\/CriminalHistory?P_CASE_IDENTIFIER=ROEL%5EPAVIA%5E01091999%5E639394\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">additional felony charge\u00a0<\/a>of assault on law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Both brothers were released from police custody the next morning and are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 12, according to arrest records <a href=\"https:\/\/sci.ccc.nashville.gov\/Search\/CriminalHistory?P_CASE_IDENTIFIER=JAVIER%5EPAVIA%5E12311999%5E628244\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">viewed by The Post.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Vanderbilt Head Coach Clark Lea hugs quarterback Diego Pavia after the team\u2019s win. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Diego Pavia secured a 10-2 season for the No. 14 Commodores after the team\u2019s 45-24 victory over Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old tallied 286 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He also rushed for an additional 165 yards and another touchdown.<\/p>\n<p>Pavia\u2019s pulled out the Heisman Trophy pose during his touchdown celebration, sparking debate on whether he will be one of the four finalists for the elite award in December.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTake me to New York,\u201d Pavia said in <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SECNetwork\/status\/1994925254808887467\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">his post-game interview.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel like you look at the numbers, what we got here and obviously we did something that\u2019s never been done.
