PlanPhilly reporters want to hear from you! <a href=\"#Section1\">Ask us a question or send us a story idea you think we should cover.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>A new campaign is asking Philadelphia residents to share their \u201chopes and dreams\u201d for the city.\n<\/p>\n<p>The public survey is the first phase of a broader effort to update the city\u2019s comprehensive plan \u2014 a blueprint that will guide physical development over the next 25 years.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe work with communities, we work with other departments and we think about the broad goals and direction of the city and how we can get there through planning, zoning, investments and other tools,\u201d said Martine Decamp, deputy director for the Philadelphia City Planning Commission, the independent agency behind the campaign.\n  <\/p>\n<p>The survey will inform how the commission proceeds with updating the comprehensive plan, a requirement under the city\u2019s home rule charter. It centers on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phila.gov\/2025-11-20-what-do-you-want-for-philadelphias-future-planning-commission-launches-survey-to-update-the-citys-comprehensive-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nine open-ended questions<\/a> rooted in the future of Philadelphia.\n<\/p>\n<p>They are:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">What is your vision for the future of Philadelphia?<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">What is your vision for the future of your neighborhood?<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">What does access to opportunity look like for you?<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">What does a healthy and safe Philadelphia mean to you?<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Imagine a thriving neighborhood. What does it include?<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">What housing options would you like to see in Philadelphia?<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Which parts of your culture and tradition would you like to see celebrated more?<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">How are you impacted by Philadelphia\u2019s hotter summers, flooding, and more extreme weather?<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Are you satisfied with how you get around Philadelphia and beyond? Why or why not?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s important for us to hear that so that we know we\u2019re on the right track and that we\u2019re actually prioritizing the issues that residents want us to prioritize,\u201d Decamp said. \u201cIt\u2019s also helpful to us because we\u2019ll know that if we\u2019re moving forward with some recommendations for investments that there\u2019s buy-in from the public before we go any further with it.\u201d\n        <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Have a question about Philly\u2019s neighborhoods or the systems that shape them?
