A major San Diego bank announced it will match donations to the growing San Diego Unity Fund<\/a> to help local residents facing challenges because of federal cuts in social services.<\/p>\n

California Bank & Trust<\/a> said it will match donations up to $25,000 for the fund, which was created by the San Diego Foundation<\/a> in partnership with Price Philanthropies<\/a> and the Prebys Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The fund is designed to help residents facing growing economic hardship as federal support declines by providing for essentials like food, housing and healthcare.<\/p>\n

Donations for the Fifty & Forward<\/a> program will also be matched. This program focuses on long-term solutions, investing in the future of children and families, education and the environment.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of our core values as an organization is giving back and supporting our communities,\u201d said CB&T President and CEO Eric Ellingsen. \u201cBy supporting San Diego Foundation and its San Diego Unity Fund and Fifty & Forward through this campaign, we hope to double the impact and help them deliver critical relief where it matters most.\u201d<\/p>\n

Every contribution made to the Unity Fund or Fifty & Forward as part of the bank\u2019s Giving Season Campaign<\/a> through Dec. 31 will be matched by CB&T dollar for dollar up to $25,000.\u00a0 Donors can contribute online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis generous match from California Bank & Trust helps respond to the urgent needs of San Diegans\u00a0 by keeping food on tables, families housed and neighbors healthy,\u201d said San Diego Foundation President & CEO Mark Stuart.<\/p>\n
