{"id":41565,"date":"2025-07-05T20:03:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-05T20:03:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/41565\/"},"modified":"2025-07-05T20:03:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-05T20:03:11","slug":"late-night-burglars-sought-for-breaking-into-5-bronx-stores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/41565\/","title":{"rendered":"Late-night burglars sought for breaking into 5 Bronx stores"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A pair of late-night burglars are being sought for breaking into five Bronx stores, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2025\/07\/01\/nypd-hails-major-drops-murders-shootings-first-half-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">police<\/a> said Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The crooks, one of whom was recorded wearing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/nycha\/index.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York City Housing Authority<\/a> hoodie on at least one occasion, have been burglarizing stores \u2014 mostly closed bodegas \u2014 since June 24, when they swiped $200 from the register of the Super Laundromat on Morris Ave. near McClellan St. in the Concourse section of the Bronx.<\/p>\n<p>In that incident, the suspects broke both the security gate and a glass door to the business at about 3 a.m., before removing the cash from the register, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the crimes followed the same pattern: Sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., the suspects managed to break open a security gate and the front door to a store before emptying the register.<\/p>\n<p>Cops did not immediately disclose how the thieves opened the security shutters, which are traditionally secured with a heavy-duty lock.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects have hit at least three groceries and bodegas during the spree, cops said. All of the stores are within a short distance from each other in the same police precinct, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>Their second burglary on June 24 was by far their most successful. After entering the Mart 33 Convenience store on E. 167th St. near Grant Ave., which is a block away from the first break-in, the crooks took $1,500 in cash from the register and $1,000 worth of cigarettes, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>No injuries were reported in any of these crimes. Their last burglary took place on July 1, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>Police on Saturday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2022\/12\/26\/elite-nypd-squad-uses-surveillance-video-to-track-and-catch-criminals-we-take-a-lot-of-pride-in-our-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released a surveillance photos<\/a> of the suspects in the hopes someone would recognize him.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is urged to call <a href=\"https:\/\/crimestoppers.nypdonline.org\/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYPD Crime Stoppers<\/a> at (800) 577-TIPS.
