Petco Park was fully packed and rocking for a record-setting night for the WWE Survivor Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The crowd of 46,016 shattered the all-time record, and the attendance nearly equaled the 50,575 fans who turned out for the last three Survivor Series events combined.<\/p>\n

And those fans were treated to watching hometown kid Dominik Mysterio<\/a> reclaim the Intercontinental Championship from former-Mission Beach resident John Cena.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just a kid from San Diego chasing his dream, trying to be the greatest Mysterio out here<\/a>,\u201d he told Times of San Diego in the days leading up to the event.<\/p>\n

Mysterio lost the title to Cena earlier this month on WWE Raw, before reclaiming it last night.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat excites me the most about this is the fact that we get to do this in San Diego,\u201d he said before the event. \u201cNot only that, but at Petco Park and it\u2019s the first wrestling event Petco Park has ever held. I lost the title to him (John Cena) in his hometown in Boston, so now we get to run it back in my hometown in San Diego, so I think that\u2019s really special.\u201d<\/p>\n

Judgement Day, the group of wrestlers Mysterio is part of, wasn\u2019t present when he lost the title. But they were there last night, and he won with their help, specifically two-time Women\u2019s World Champion Liv Morgan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI won it the only way Dirty Dom knows how to win, as clean as possible,\u201d he said after the bout. \u201cI beat John Cena fair and square. Never Seen 17 got beat by the two-time greatest Mysterio of all-time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event<\/a> started with the Women\u2019s WarGames match, an event that set the tone for the rest of the night. Iyo Sky landed an iconic Swanton Bomb with a custom metal trash can over her head, helping Team Rhea Ripley win the match. But it was AJ Lee who submitted Becky Lynch with a Black Widow Hold to secure the win.<\/p>\n

Stephanie Vaquer successfully defended her championship belt over Nikki Bella for the Women\u2019s World Championship. She performed her famous move\u00a0 \u201cDevil\u2019s Kiss\u201d to retain her championship title.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the Men\u2019s WarGames match, the heel team The Vision captured glory. A masked wrestler initially thought to be Seth Rollins helped The Vision win by attacking CM Punk inside the WarGames cage. It was later revealed that the masked wrestler was Austin Theory, who was seen backstage prior to the match.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dominik Mysterio \u2014 whose legendary father Rey Mysterio helped bring lucha libre wrestling to the U.S. and carved a legacy in Tijuana and San Diego \u2014 revealed his family\u2019s Thanksgiving tradition in an exclusive interview ahead of the match.<\/p>\n

The Mysterios, it turns out, have retired the full bird from their Thanksgiving table. These days, they prepare only turkey drumsticks, he said.<\/p>\n
