JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 After dozens of volunteers spent Saturday wrapping gifts to prepare for the fourth annual \u201cTis the Season Giveaway,\u201d the day kicked off successfully with plenty of smiles and many presents being given away.<\/p>\n

Organizers, Millicent Pride-Daniels, Esq. of Daniels Law Firm and Shawnta Pride-Daniels said they and their partners planned to hand out 600 toys to children in need. <\/p>\n

Pride-Daniels are the co-founders of II Dope Chics, II Dope Chics Who Give a Care, Inc., and their partners for this event include VyStar Credit Union, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that times are hard, so we wanted to make sure that we put smiles on the kids\u2019 faces. We wanted to make sure that we did everything we could in order to give back,\u201d Millicent Pride-Daniels said at the Sunday event.<\/p>\n

Organizers, Millicent Pride-Daniels, Esq. of Daniels Law Firm and Shawnta Pride-Daniels said they and their partners plan to hand out 600 toys to children in need. (Copyright 2025 by WJXT News4JAX – All rights reserved.)<\/p>\n

In addition to handing out toys, the event included a bounce house, food truck, face painting and holiday pictures.<\/p>\n

Shawnta Pride-Daniels said the two saw a need in Jacksonville and wanted to fulfill it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith that need, we decided it\u2019s best for us to just jump in and be apart of the community and give back,\u201d Shawnta Pride-Daniels said.<\/p>\n

Organizers said this event was done to help lift community spirits.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor some families and for some kids, this is going to be the only Christmas that they probably get a chance to experience. So, we want to be apart of that,\u201d Shawnta Pride-Daniels said added. \u201cJust to make sure families can have some relief.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lashonda, whose son received gifts, described the event as a blessing and also expressed gratitude toward the organizers.<\/p>\n
