The Philadelphia Eagles\u2019 Week 14 opponent might be without their starting quarterback.<\/p>\n
Justin Herbert fractured his left hand (read: his non-throwing hand) during the Los Angeles Chargers\u2019 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, according to Jim Harbaugh. Herbert is said to be undergoing surgery and it\u2019s currently unclear if he\u2019ll be available to play against the Eagles on the December 8 edition of Monday Night Football.<\/p>\n
If Herbert can\u2019t play, the Chargers will turn to Trey Lance as their starter. The No. 3 overall pick from the 2021 NFL Draft has limited playing experience with just five career starts under his belt. He\u2019s 2-3 in those games with a 81.7 passer rating.<\/p>\n
Whether Herbert plays or not, the Eagles should expect to see the Chargers test Philly\u2019s run defense after the Birds allowed 281 rushing yards to the Chicago Bears in Week 12. The Bolts gained 192 yards on the ground against the Raiders this weekend.<\/p>\n
The Eagles have faced one of the most difficult schedules in the NFL thus far but it looks like things might be getting easier down the stretch. Of course, they still need to play a whole lot better to beat these seemingly beatable opponents.<\/p>\n
