Scarlett Johansson has been one of Hollywood\u2019s strongest supporters of Woody Allen, despite allegations of sexual abuse levied against the director by his stepdaughter, Dylan Farrow. Johansson, who has worked with Allen three times, defended that friendship in an interview with The Telegraph.<\/p>\n

The \u201cBlack Widow\u201d star admitted she isn\u2019t sure whether she\u2019s lost work or relationships due to her support for Allen. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou never know what the domino effect is, exactly. But my mom always encouraged me to be myself, [to see] that it\u2019s important to have integrity, and stand up for what you believe in,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cAt the same time, I think it\u2019s also important to know when it\u2019s not your turn. I don\u2019t mean that you should silence yourself. I mean sometimes it\u2019s just not your time. And that\u2019s something I\u2019ve understood more as I\u2019ve matured.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johansson also reflected on her decision to sue Disney after the release of \u201cBlack Widow\u201d in 2021. The parties ultimately settled for $40 million after Johansson argued the movie\u2019s unexpected debut on streaming cut into a box office performance bonus in her contract. <\/p>\n

Johansson previously defended her friendship<\/a> with Allen in a 2019 interview with the Hollywood Reporter. \u201cI love Woody,\u201d she said. \u201cI believe him, and I would work with him anytime.\u201d<\/p>\n

She later elaborated on the dynamic with the director. <\/p>\n
