A 65-year-old man suffered burns to his legs after his pants were set on fire while he was sleeping on a subway pulling into Times Square early Monday, police sources said.<\/p>\n
The injured man was found on the platform at the 42nd Street station just after 3 a.m. after police responded to a 911 call about an assault, according to cops.<\/p>\n
The victim, who appeared to be homeless, said he had been sleeping in the carriage of a northbound 1 train when an unknown perp set him ablaze, sources said.<\/p>\n

He jumped off at the 42nd Street stop where an MTA worker flagged down officers posted at the station, the sources added.<\/p>\n
Police are currently probing whether someone attacked the man or if he happened to set himself alight.<\/p>\n
Footage from the scene showed the half-naked victim being treated on the subway platform before he was strapped to a gurney and carried out of the station.<\/p>\n
He was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center in a stable condition, police said.<\/p>\n
