Philadelphia police are searching for the thieves who stole personal items, equipment, and a private vehicle from firefighters.<\/p>\n

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia police are searching for the thieves who stole personal items, equipment and a private vehicle from firefighters in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood while they were busy battling a deadly blaze.<\/p>\n

The crews had responded to a fire at a home at 33rd Street and Ridge Avenue <\/a>on Friday evening.<\/p>\n

A man in his 40s died, while two others escaped the flames.<\/p>\n

Officials say an electrical issue caused the fire.<\/p>\n

As crews were working to douse the flames, someone went through their gear, taking personal items including keys and a firefighter’s car that was parked back at the station.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.
