From the lingering impacts of the Hollywood strikes to increased costs (labor, rent, ingredients, etc.), many variables continue to batter restaurant owners who operate on razor-thin margins. Los Angeles restaurants also <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2025\/1\/17\/24346323\/los-angeles-restaurants-struggling-wildfires-chefs-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">continue to struggle with the impact of the 2025 fires<\/a>, including slow business and devastating property loss, as well as the ongoing effects of ICE enforcement. Here are notable restaurant closures for November. For more closure news, read our <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/restaurant-closings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">past closure coverage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Arroz and Fun<\/strong> \u2014 On October 31, Arroz and Fun departed its Lincoln Heights home. It\u2019s not entirely a Los Angeles loss, however: While thanking customers in an Instagram post, the team announced that operations will move to their sister restaurant, Chifa, in Eagle Rock.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Citizen Public Market<\/strong> \u2014 Culver City\u2019s nearly five-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/restaurant-closings\/292407\/culver-citys-historic-citizen-public-market-food-hall-to-close-permanently\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Citizen Public Market closed permanently<\/a> on November 2. It\u2019s a stunning loss for Los Angeles \u2014 the historic building housed seven restaurants, including chef Brandon Kida\u2019s Go Go Bird (which reopened in Riverside County), Benevento, Smokey Chance, and the Jikoni pop-up. Citizen opened in November 2020 amid steep pandemic-era challenges even as it operated in the heart of Downtown Culver City adjacent to HBO at Ivy Station, Amazon Studios, and Sony Pictures Studios.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Pono Burger<\/strong> \u2014 On November 10, Santa Monica\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2013\/5\/1\/6441265\/pono-burger-a-new-natural-burger-place-in-santa-monica\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pono Burger<\/a> called it quits. The organic burger stand expanded quickly after opening in Los Angeles in 2013. Windy \u201cMakani\u201d Gerardi of Ultimate Burger in Kona, Hawai\u2018i, grew the spot from one burger joint in Santa Monica to its now shuttered locations in Venice and <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2018\/7\/11\/17562106\/pono-burger-west-hollywood-closed-lady-coco\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">West Hollywood<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Sun Nong<\/strong> <strong>Dan <\/strong>\u2014 Eater confirmed Sun Nong Dan\u2019s closure with owner Jayson Choi; the Sixth Street location shuttered in mid-November. The original Koreatown location <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2018\/3\/20\/17143730\/kkini-los-angeles-koreatown-korean-braised-ribs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">debuted in 2013<\/a> and expanded to Western near Wilshire Boulevards, Sawtelle, San Gabriel, and Rowland Heights. Those locations remain open.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Gucci Osteria<\/strong> \u2014 In a pre-Thanksgiving surprise, chef Massimo Bottura\u2019s five-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/restaurant-news\/295772\/gucci-osteria-beverly-hills-closing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gucci Osteria Beverly Hills<\/a> closed on November 22. Head chef Mattia Agazzi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DRXl9P4kr6y\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirmed the closure in a post<\/a> on his personal Instagram account; WWD reports that Gucci\u2019s Beverly Hills <a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/fashion-news\/fashion-scoops\/gucci-osteria-beverly-hills-closes-1238358324\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flagship retail store will remain open<\/a> after the restaurant\u2019s closure. Massimo Bottura opened the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eater.com\/2018\/1\/9\/16867836\/massimo-bottura-gucci-osteria-gucci-garden-florence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first Gucci Osteria in Florence in 2018<\/a>, before <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2020\/2\/7\/21128329\/gucci-osteria-opening-massimo-bottura-beverly-hills\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">expanding to Los Angeles in 2020<\/a>. The restaurant quickly became a celebrity favorite and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gucciosteria.com\/en\/florence\/press\/gucci-osteria-beverly-hills-receives-first-michelin-star\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">garnered one Michelin star in 2021<\/a>. Gucci Osteria\u2019s other locations in Florence, Tokyo, and Seoul remain open. Gucci has not announced if it will replace the restaurant with a new hospitality concept.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Esters Wine Shop &amp; Oyster Bar<\/strong> \u2014 One of Santa Monica\u2019s longest-running wine bars closed on November 23. <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2015\/8\/6\/9113455\/esters-santa-monica-wine-bar-photos-interior-cassia-inside\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ester\u2019s Wine Shop &amp; Bar<\/a> operated for 10 years in an Art Deco space, where diners could find bottles from independent producers with dishes by chef Jeremy Fox. The Rustic Canyon Family group is in the midst of change, as the influential restaurant group will also <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/restaurant-closings\/292768\/birdie-gs-jeremy-fox-santa-monica-restaurant-closing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">close Birdie G\u2019s<\/a> on December 31.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Bar Bohemien<\/strong> \u2014 Without fanfare, Culver City\u2019s Bar Bohemian closed over Thanksgiving weekend. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DRsqSLIEp9R\/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instagram announcement<\/a> wasn\u2019t too much of a surprise, given Citizen Public Market\u2019s early November closure. Initially, the food hall noted that Bar Bohemien would remain open on the rooftop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Holey Grail Larchmont<\/strong> \u2014 Another Thanksgiving closure occurred in Los Angeles with the shuttering of taro doughnut shop Holey Grail Donuts. After the <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2023\/3\/9\/23627871\/holey-grail-taro-doughnuts-los-angeles-larchmont-village-opening\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Larchmont outlet ceased operations<\/a> on November 30, they\u2019ll still have two locations in Santa Monica and Long Beach. Founded in Hawaii in 2018 by siblings Hana and Nile Dreiling, Holey Grail is best known for its tropical flavors and sustainability-minded wares. The brand, which <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2022\/8\/11\/23296989\/holey-grail-donuts-los-angeles-expansion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raised $9 million<\/a> through venture capital financing for its current expansion, opened its first Los Angeles store in <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2022\/12\/15\/23505925\/holey-grail-donuts-main-street-santa-monica-shop-banh-chung-collective-side-pie-altadena\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Santa Monica<\/a> in December 2022.
