{"id":418601,"date":"2025-12-02T03:27:15","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T03:27:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/418601\/"},"modified":"2025-12-02T03:27:15","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T03:27:15","slug":"us-commerce-chief-confirms-south-koreas-15-tariff-rate-retroactive-to-november-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/418601\/","title":{"rendered":"US Commerce chief confirms South Korea&#8217;s 15% tariff rate retroactive to November 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">By David Lawder<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Dec 1 (Reuters) &#8211; U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick on Monday confirmed that the general <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/live\/trump-tariffs-live-updates-trump-vows-export-curbs-india-hike-on-deck-china-and-canada-envoys-visit-us-200619355.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:tariff;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tariff<\/a> \u200brate on imports from South Korea, including on autos, would \u200cdrop to 15% retroactive to November 1 because South Korea has introduced legislation in parliament to \u200cimplement the country&#8217;s strategic U.S. investment commitments.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">In a statement posted on X, Lutnick said that the move unlocks the &#8220;full benefit&#8221; of South Korea&#8217;s trade deal with President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">&#8220;In response, the U.S.\u2060 will lower certain tariffs \u200cunder the deal &#8212; including auto tariffs &#8212; to 15%, effective November 1.
