{"id":419677,"date":"2025-12-02T14:37:29","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T14:37:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/419677\/"},"modified":"2025-12-02T14:37:29","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T14:37:29","slug":"dave-coulier-diagnosed-with-tongue-cancer-after-beating-lymphoma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/419677\/","title":{"rendered":"Dave Coulier diagnosed with tongue cancer after beating lymphoma"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dave Coulier is battling cancer \u2014 again. <\/p>\n<p>The \u201cFull House\u201d actor, 66, revealed Tuesday that he\u2019s been diagnosed with tongue cancer, several months after announcing he had\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/21\/entertainment\/full-house-star-dave-coulier-learned-he-was-cancer-free-and-a-grandpa-on-the-same-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">beaten his battle with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin\u2019s lymphoma.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo go through chemotherapy and feel that relief of whoah, it\u2019s gone, and then to get a test that says, well now you\u2019ve got another kind of cancer \u2026 it is a shock to the system,\u201d\u00a0Coulier said on<a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/health\/news\/dave-coulier-tongue-cancer-rcna245598\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> \u201cToday.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dave Coulier reveals he has cancer on \u201cToday.\u201d Today\/NBC<\/p>\n<p>Dave Coulier sharing his cancer diagnosis on \u201cToday.\u201d Today\/NBC<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA couple of months ago, I had a PET scan, and something flared on the scan,\u201d he explained. \u201cThe doctor said, \u2018We don\u2019t know what it is, but there\u2019s something at the base of your tongue.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coulier\u2019s doctor performed a biopsy which initially didn\u2019t detect cancer, but when the actor got a PET scan in October, he learned the growth on his tongue had flared again and grown.<\/p>\n<p>Coulier went to an ear, nose and throat oncologist, got a CT scan and an MRI, and underwent another biopsy, which confirmed he had early stage P16 carcinoma, or oropharyngeal tongue cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Dave Coulier visits SiriusXM Studios on March 2, 2016 in New York City. This is a new cancer. \u2026 I said, \u2018Are you kidding me?&#8217;\u201d\u00a0he said on \u201cToday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey said it could stem from having an HPV virus up to 30 years ago. A lot of people carry the HPV virus, but they said mine activated and turned into a carcinoma,\u201d Coulier added.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cMuppet Babies\u201d star confirmed that his throat cancer was discovered \u201cearly enough\u201d and is \u201cvery treatable.\u201d He\u2019s undergoing 35 treatments in total, Monday to Friday, until Dec. 31.<\/p>\n<p>Dave Coulier attends 90s Con in Daytona Beach, Florida in Sept. 2024. It\u2019s kind of serendipitous,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n<p>Coulier revealed that he\u2019s experiencing \u201cside effects\u201d from treatment including  nausea, \u201cradiation brain,\u201d and pain on the left side of his face and tongue where the tissue was removed for the biopsy.<\/p>\n<p>He also opened up about how <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/21\/entertainment\/full-house-star-dave-coulier-learned-he-was-cancer-free-and-a-grandpa-on-the-same-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">being diagnosed with two cancers<\/a> in one year has taken a toll on him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s emotional. It\u2019s psychologically draining. FilmMagic<\/p>\n<p>Coulier added, \u201cThe silver lining here is that I had cancer, which helped me detect my other cancer. It seems crazy to be making that statement, but it\u2019s true. Had I not gone in and listened to my doctors and made sure that I got that PET scan to follow up, we would have never found this carcinoma \u2026 and I could be in a world of hurt. This could have progressed immensely, and I would be in trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The comedian <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/11\/13\/entertainment\/full-house-star-dave-coulier-diagnosed-with-cancer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin\u2019s lymphoma in October 2024<\/a>, and he announced that he was cancer-free on April 1.<\/p>\n<p>Dave Coulier undergoing cancer treatment in the hospital. dcoulier\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>During an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/parade.com\/celebrities\/dave-coulier-cancer-interview-exclusive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Parade magazine<\/a>\u00a0in March, Coulier\u2019s wife, Melissa Bring, revealed that he <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/03\/31\/entertainment\/dave-coulier-was-prepared-to-die-after-fifth-round-of-chemo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was \u201cprepared\u201d to die <\/a>after his fifth round of chemo. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think everybody\u2019s mind goes there,\u201d Coulier told the magazine. \u201cIt\u2019s part of the reality of life.
