The bit was a viral sensation during the outing that ended last month and it was accompanied by another viral favorite section where Carpenter would ask the crowd if they wanted to try out some \u201cfreaky positions,\u201d before busting out a unique pose and saying \u201cHave you ever tried\u2026 this one?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOn Monday (Dec. 1), the White House once again appropriated a playful pop culture meme to shine a light on its attempt to deport undocumented people. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@whitehouse\/video\/7578983510929689870\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">14-second TikTok video<\/a> cued to \u201cJuno,\u201d a series of people are shown angrily filming ICE agents as they swoop in to arrest people on the street, with close-ups of handcuffs being slapped on someone. A series of clips of chases and arrests are then cued to Carpenter asking, \u201cHave you ever tried this one?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe caption to the clip reads \u201cHave you ever tried this one? Bye-bye [wave heart eyes emoji].\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBillboard reached out to the White House to clarify if it got clearance from Carpenter to use her music in the ICE propaganda video.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe video dropped less than a month after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/olivia-rodrigo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Olivia Rodrigo<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/olivia-rodrigo-slams-ice-song-use-racist-hateful-propaganda-1236108389\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lambasted the Trump administration<\/a> after the Department of Homeland Security posted an Instagram video soundtracked by her Guts track \u201cAll-American Bitch\u201d showing ICE officers forcibly tackling, detaining and deporting people. In the comments, Rodrigo wrote, \u201cdon\u2019t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda.\u201d The video featured a montage of what appeared to be undocumented people voluntarily boarding DHS flights and giving a thumbs-up as they depart. \u201cLEAVE NOW and self-deport using the CPB Home app,\u201d read the caption. \u201cIf you don\u2019t, you will face consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tCarpenter, a vocal supporter of Trump\u2019s 2024 election rival Vice President Kamala Harris, is the latest artist to object to the president\u2019s repeated use of popular music for his political videos <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/lists\/musicians-slam-donald-trump-music-campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">without their permission<\/a>. The pace of such seemingly unsanctioned usage has ramped up over the past few months, with Kenny Loggins lashing out at Trump for using his Top Gun classic \u201cDanger Zone\u201d under an AI-generated video of the president seemingly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/kenny-loggins-slams-donald-trump-ai-video-danger-zone-1236093089\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dumping a river of fecal matter<\/a> on American citizens participating in the anti-Trump \u201cNo Kings\u201d protests.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSwifties also aired their ire at the White House last month over a TikTok video set to Swift\u2019s hit Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping single \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia,\u201d renamed \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/donald-trump-taylor-swift-fate-of-ophelia-white-house-clip-1236104803\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Fate of America<\/a>,\u201d depicting Trump\u2019s mug shot from when he was charged with trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election results as well as an image of POTUS kissing an American flag.
