For the most part, golf is a game that takes plenty of time and in a modern era when slow play continues to dominate talk off the course, rounds close to 5 hours and more are the norm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As we know, golf is a game that involves meticulous skill and concentration and at times, the rules and where the golf ball ends up can lead to all sorts of delays.<\/p>\n

However, there have been occasions when players have completed their rounds in much less time than the norm and back in 2020, that\u2019s exactly what PGA Tour<\/a> player Wesley Bryan<\/a> did. <\/p>\n

Playing at the BMW Championship, Bryan was left out on his own for the final round after Danny Lee withdrew and he was left sole bottom of the leaderboard.<\/p>\n

What followed was a remarkable experiment from Bryan, as he went right at it to play the quickest round ever.<\/p>\n

Quite remarkably for Wesley Bryan, his final round of the BMW was anything but a disaster thanks to his speed of play.<\/p>\n

In fact, had he produced the same sort of golf over the opening 3 days, he might have done much better.<\/p>\n

Bryan ended up getting around for his final 18 holes in 89 minutes, breaking the 90 minute barrier as he collapsed due to tiredness on the final green.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In fact, Bryan was so fast getting around the course that while he finished up on 18, the group behind him were only just playing the 8th hole.<\/p>\n

Players have, in the past, been forced to rush along a bit and we\u2019ve seen a few three hour rounds and less over the years.<\/p>\n

But for Bryan to get around in less than 90 minutes is quite remarkable and frankly, shows up just how slow golf can be on its day.<\/p>\n

With Bryan returning to golf this week<\/a> at the BMW International Open on the DP World Tour following his ban from the PGA, it remains to be seen if he\u2019ll try something like this again to help boost his content on YouTube.<\/p>\n
