{"id":420062,"date":"2025-12-02T18:27:15","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T18:27:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/420062\/"},"modified":"2025-12-02T18:27:15","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T18:27:15","slug":"adem-bunkeddeko-running-for-n-y-state-comptroller-in-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/420062\/","title":{"rendered":"Adem Bunkeddeko running for N.Y. state comptroller in 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former U.S. congressional candidate Adem Bunkeddeko announced Tuesday he is running for New York state comptroller in 2026, adding yet another Democrat to the field challenging longtime incumbent Tom DiNapoli.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor too long, the Comptroller\u2019s office has been on the sidelines \u2013 and New Yorkers have paid the price,\u201d Bunkeddeko said in a statement. \u201cIt\u2019s time for change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bunkeddeko, from Brooklyn, released a video on YouTube saying his priorities include auditing the Metropolitan Transportation Agency, expanding state housing access vouchers and using clean energy, manufacturing and infrastructure investment to help upstate\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p>Bunkeddeko previously ran for Congress, challenging Rep. Yvette Clarke in New York&#8217;s 9th\u00a0Congressional District in 2018 and 2020, narrowly losing to her the first time and finishing a distant second in a five-way race two years later.<\/p>\n<p>He joins <a href=\"https:\/\/spectrumlocalnews.com\/nys\/central-ny\/politics\/2025\/07\/31\/trump-administration-changes-clean-air-enforcement-policy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Drew\u00a0Warshaw<\/a>, a former assistant secretary to Gov. Eliot Spitzer, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/spectrumlocalnews.com\/nys\/central-ny\/politics\/2025\/11\/13\/raj-goyle-challenging-tom-dinapoli-for-n-y--state-comptroller\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Raj Goyle,<\/a>\u00a0an entrepreneur and attorney, as the Democrats challenging DiNapoli.
