It\u2019s a new week, which means it\u2019s time to mine Landman<\/a>\u2019s latest episode for North Texas Easter eggs. The West Texas-set oil rig drama, co-created by Taylor Sheridan<\/a>, has shot across Dallas-Fort Worth. The script, accordingly, reflects the milieu. <\/p>\n

Here are notable D-FW references in the third episode of Landman\u2019s second season. <\/p>\n

The Frost Tower<\/p>\n

In July, streets were closed in downtown<\/a> Fort Worth for filming at the Frost Tower, among other locations. The high-rise building served as the corporate office for the late oil businessman Monty Miller (Jon Hamm). <\/p>\n

His widow, Cami (Demi Moore), riffles through files in his office toward the start of episode three with the city backdrop visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows. <\/p>\n

Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton<\/a>) and Cami pull up to the Fort Worth Stockyards restaurant<\/a> to tersely confront an M-Tex Oil lawyer about the company\u2019s murky finances. <\/p>\n

\u201cSir, this kind of behavior is unacceptable in a restaurant,\u201d an employee says to Tommy, after Cami chucks a glass of water at the lawyer. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not a restaurant. It\u2019s a club. Restaurant\u2019s upstairs, so it\u2019s fine down here,\u201d Tommy replies. \u201cMatter of fact that\u2019s what clubs are for. You don\u2019t want to be throwing s— at your attorney upstairs in a restaurant. Membership has its privileges.\u201d <\/p>\n

The scene could be read as a subtle advertisement of Sheridan\u2019s business venture. The Fort Worth-raised show creator recently bought the steakhouse, which has been around since 1947. He has since revamped it with a members-only Cattlemen\u2019s Club. <\/p>\n

Before Tommy and Cami enter the restaurant, he advises her to make a clean break from the oil industry after the company\u2019s finances are sorted out. <\/p>\n

The money she could get from a sale could go toward honoring Monty with \u201ca museum or a park or a cancer center like the Moncriefs,\u201d he says, in reference to UT Southwestern\u2019s cancer treatment center in Fort Worth. <\/p>\n
