{"id":420555,"date":"2025-12-02T23:37:25","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T23:37:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/420555\/"},"modified":"2025-12-02T23:37:25","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T23:37:25","slug":"doordash-launches-waymo-delivery-service-in-phoenix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/420555\/","title":{"rendered":"DoorDash launches Waymo delivery service in Phoenix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX \u2014\u00a0Metro Phoenix residents can now tap DoorDash not just for takeout, but for autonomous grocery delivery, thanks to the food delivery service\u2019s partnership with Waymo.<\/p>\n<p>Starting Monday, customers can skip delivery drivers and keep everything touch-free by selecting the standard delivery option at participating DashMart locations. DashMart is DoorDash\u2019s chain of convenience, grocery and retail stores.<\/p>\n<p>A Monday announcement from the company said DoorDash officials hope to eventually include local businesses in the program.<\/p>\n<p>How will the DoorDash, Waymo delivery service work?<\/p>\n<p>When placing an order, customers in the <a href=\"https:\/\/waymo.com\/blog\/2024\/06\/largest-autonomous-ride-hail-territory-in-us-now-even-larger\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">315-square-mile service area<\/a> \u2014 which covers parts of Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, and Chandler \u2014 will have the option to choose autonomous vehicle delivery.<\/p>\n<p>If paired with a self\u2011driving car, they can use the DoorDash app to securely unlock the trunk and collect their items.<\/p>\n<p>Waymo also announced special promotions for DashPass members using its ridesharing service.<\/p>\n<p>The company, which began as Google\u2019s self\u2011driving car project, has operated in the East Valley since 2017, introduced fully autonomous public rides in 2020, and expanded robotaxi service to metro Phoenix in October 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The autonomous driving technology company also announced a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-news\/waymo-uber-eats-announce-partnership-for-driverless-food-delivery-in-metro-phoenix\/5569095\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">similar partnership with Uber Eats<\/a>\u00a0in April 2024.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"twitter-follow-button\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/serenaeosully\" data-show-count=\"false\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Follow @serenaeosully<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We want to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0px;\">Have a story idea or tip?
