{"id":42085,"date":"2025-07-06T00:48:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-06T00:48:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/42085\/"},"modified":"2025-07-06T00:48:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-06T00:48:08","slug":"elon-musk-says-hes-created-new-political-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/42085\/","title":{"rendered":"Elon Musk says he&#8217;s created new political party"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Elon Musk applaudes in the Oval Office as he attends a press conference with U.S. President Donald Trump, at the White House in Washington, D.C., U.S., May 30, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Nathan Howard | Reuters<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/elon-musk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elon Musk<\/a> said Saturday that he has formed a new political party, the &#8220;America Party,&#8221; which he claims will give Americans &#8220;back your freedom.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it!&#8221; Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1941584569523732930\" target=\"_blank\">wrote<\/a> on X, one day after he posted a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1941119099532378580\" target=\"_blank\">poll<\/a> on the platform asking his followers if they support creating the &#8220;America Party.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Musk, the world&#8217;s richest man, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1941125459628179641\" target=\"_blank\">suggested<\/a> Friday that the new party could focus &#8220;on just 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people,&#8221; Musk said Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Musk did not say where the party may be registered. It did not appear to be registered with the Federal Election Committee.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that the party would caucus independently and that &#8220;legislative discussions would be had with both parties,&#8221; according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1941202585580699970\" target=\"_blank\">reply<\/a> to a user on X.<\/p>\n<p>Read more CNBC politics coverage<\/p>\n<p>Musk was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/11\/07\/how-elon-musk-stands-to-cash-in-on-trumps-presidential-victory.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">largest donor<\/a> during the 2024 presidential campaign, giving more than <a href=\"vhttps:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2025\/01\/31\/elon-musk-trump-donor-2024-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$280 million<\/a> throughout the cycle, predominantly to presidential candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a>, although he also supported other Republican candidates.<\/p>\n<p>If Musk chooses to get involved in any competitive congressional races in 2026, it could make a significant difference in a close contest.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/TSLA\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tesla<\/a> CEO&#8217;s post comes after a public feud with Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/06\/28\/elon-musk-trump-senate-bill.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">erupted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It was a dramatic turnaround for the two men, who had been close allies during the early days of the second Trump administration.
