The Packers have an open roster spot on their 17-man practice squad right now, but the assumption I’m working with is that the team will attempt to re-sign receiver Will Sheppard, who the team waived on Monday, after passing through waivers.

Still, there is the possibility that Green Bay will swap out current members of the practice squad for potential outside signings, even if they do bring back Sheppard. Keep that in mind.

Below are the six players that Green Bay brought in:

Barnhart is a guard who began his career as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers after spending his college career at Michigan. With the Wolverines, Barnhart was named a second-team All-Big Ten player as a senior, the year that Michigan won the national championship. He also has experience at tackle, but at under 6’5”, he’s likely to be a guard-only at the NFL level.

Barnhart made the Chargers’ practice squad in 2024 and 2025, under his former college head coach Jim Harbaugh, but was quickly released in 2025. Since then, he’s spent time with both the Denver Broncos’ and Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squads. Last week, he was released from Tampa Bay after spending over two weeks there.

This is Barnhart’s second workout since his release from the Buccaneers, first making a stop with the Tennessee Titans.

Etienne bounced around everywhere in college. The New Orleans native originally committed to Ole Miss before having to go down to the junior college level due to academics. He played at Fort Scott Community College in Kansas in 2019 before transferring to Butler Community College (also in Kansas) for the 2020 season, which was canceled.

In 2021, he transferred up to the FBS level and spent two seasons at Oklahoma State, where he ended up starting as a left tackle in 2022. From there, he transfered to BYU, where he played his final two seasons of college football. He was a starting guard for the Cougars in 2023 before moving to left tackle in 2024, when he was named a first-team All-Big 12 player.

Etienne was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Cincinnati Bengals, but was waived with an injury designation at the cutdown deadline. Since accepting his injury settlement in early September, he has had one other workout with an NFL team, the Tennessee Titans, two weeks ago.

Blacklock is a former second-round pick who was picked 40th overall in the 2020 draft by the Houston Texans. He hasn’t played a regular-season game since 2023, but Blacklock has 44 games, 3 starts and 918 defensive snaps under his belt at the NFL level.

As far as experience goes, Blacklock is the biggest name on the list. Since playing his last game, Blacklock was signed late in the 2024 season by the New York Giants’ practice squad, which then led to a reserve/futures contract opportunity. The Giants then released Blacklock just before the 2025 NFL Draft.

This is Blacklock’s first workout since December 11th of 2024.

Raikes played four years at Texas A&M before transferring to Auburn in his final season. He went undrafted in the 2025 class and signed with the Tennessee Titans, where he was released at the cutdown deadline. From here, he was signed to the Titans’ initial practice squad of 2025, but was released within the week.

Since his stint in Tennessee, he’s only received one workout, with the Arizona Cardinals on October 7th.

Reid was also an undrafted player in the 2025 class, signing with the Carolina Panthers. He got some work in Panthers camp as a safety and the nickel spot, despite being listed as a cornerback on the team’s official roster.

Reid was waived by the Panthers at the roster cutdown and made the team’s initial practice squad. He was released by the team in October.

In November, he had a workout with the Seattle Seahawks and was signed to their practice squad. He was waived a week later. Since his release from Seattle, this is Reid’s first workout.

Brown had spent the last two camps with the Packers before Brown suffered an injury that led to him being placed on the injured reserve in August. He was later released by the team with an injury settlement. Brown was carted off the field against the Indianapolis Colts with a collapsed lung, which he attempted to play through, and required an oxygen mask while being carted off the field.

On November 21st, the New York Jets had Brown in on a visit, but he didn’t work out with the team. The difference between those designations means that this is the first time that Brown has done on-field work with a team since his collapsed lung.

Brown was one of the stars of the 2025 summer, performing well in training camp, Family Night and the preseason. It makes sense that the Packers want to keep tabs of his situation.

At the moment, Green Bay has two practice squad safeties: Johnathan Baldwin and Jaylin Simpson. Baldwin received $115,000 in guarantees when the UDFA signed with the Packers post-draft, only behind the figure that defensive tackle Nazir Stackhouse (a member of the 53-man roster) signed for. Simpson, meanwhile, was recently called up to the gameday roster, has also played cornerback in NFL practices and was a fifth-round pick in the 2024 draft by the Indianapolis Colts.

Green Bay has some options at the safety position moving forward.

The Green Bay Packers worked out six players on Tuesday, their off day this week, following three moves…

[39
76232,19630,19629,19631,1232,62,67,132,68
0":"post-421368","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-nfl","8":"tag-green-bay-packers-depth-chart","9":"tag-green-bay-packers-free-agency","10":"tag-green-bay-packers-news","11":"tag-green-bay-packers-roster","12":"tag-nfl","13":"tag-sports","14":"tag-united-states","15":"tag-unitedstates","16":"tag-us
["GET
