The Academy of Country Music Awards<\/a> \u2014 colloquially dubbed the genre\u2019s biggest party \u2014 are leaving Frisco for Las Vegas in 2026. <\/p>\n

For three consecutive years, country luminaries and rising acts<\/a> have descended upon the Ford Center at The Star. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear why the event, which transformed the Dallas Cowboys\u2019 practice facility into a full-fledged production, will not be in North Texas next year. A spokesperson for the ACM could not immediately be reached. <\/p>\n

Damon Whiteside, the ACM\u2019s chief executive, told The Dallas Morning News<\/a> earlier this year that the organization \u201cfell in love with The Star District,\u201d citing advantages like the football field\u2019s capacity for a larger stage, the slew of newer hotels and the proximity to Dallas Love Field and DFW International Airport. <\/p>\n

The event first came to North Texas in 2015 for a 50th anniversary show held at Arlington\u2019s AT&T Stadium<\/a>, before migrating back to Sin City. It returned in 2023 for an inaugural Frisco ceremony<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The latest awards show commemorated the ACM\u2019s 60th anniversary. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey had a long run there,\u201d with three \u201cgreat years,\u201d Marla Roe, the executive director for Visit Frisco, told The News in an email, directing further questions to the ACM. <\/p>\n

The 61st awards will stream live on May 17 on Prime Video and Twitch from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
