In <a href=\"https:\/\/investors.micron.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/micron-announces-exit-crucial-consumer-business\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an announcement on Wednesday<\/a>, Micron says winding down its consumer-focused business will \u201cimprove supply and support for our larger, strategic customers in faster-growing segments\u201d \u2014 a.k.a. AI companies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Now, there\u2019s going to be one less brand selling consumer-focused memory for PCs, potentially intensifying the global memory shortage.
