{"id":423646,"date":"2025-12-04T07:46:11","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T07:46:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/423646\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T07:46:11","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T07:46:11","slug":"pro-trump-flag-vandalized-at-la-jolla-home-nbc-7-san-diego","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/423646\/","title":{"rendered":"Pro-Trump flag vandalized at La Jolla home \u2013 NBC 7 San Diego"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Jewish woman&#8217;s home in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsandiego.com\/tag\/la-jolla\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La Jolla<\/a> was vandalized, and San Diego police are investigating it as a possible hate crime.<\/p>\n<p>Someone spray painted a swastika on a flag bearing the image of President Donald Trump on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. The incident was caught on a security camera.<\/p>\n<p>Nestled in one of San Diego\u2019s most affluent neighborhoods are manicured yards and large luxury homes \u2014 not exactly the place you might expect to find a tagger.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEspecially this type of vandalism. It\u2019s just disgusting,\u201d homeowner Stacey Silk said.<\/p>\n<p>The doorbell camera video shows a man spray painting Silk\u2019s flag. On closure examination, Silk saw a swastika and a toothbrush mustache.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think someone was trying to send a message, and that kind of freaked me out a little bit,&#8221; Silk said.<\/p>\n<p>Silk is Jewish and is particularly sensitive to such images. She is also a fierce supporter of Trump. The flag shows him raising a fist after the attempted assassination last July.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, this isn\u2019t political. It\u2019s about someone vandalizing my home, so I didn\u2019t expect what I saw,&#8221; Silk said.<\/p>\n<p>This is the eighth flag Silk and her family displayed on their back fence since Trump has been in office. Seven times before, they were stolen. Some had images of the president, while others were the American flag.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was shocked to be honest with you,\u201d Silk said.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators are just as interested in those incidents, even though Silk did not report them.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere has never been anything hateful and anything hateful or vile,\u201d Silk said.<\/p>\n<p>That is until now, which is why Silk reported it to police. She says they are investigating it as a possible hate crime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would say it is someone who lives close by because he clearly walked up,&#8221; Silk said.<\/p>\n<p>The zip ties that supported the flag remain.
