Full-on mountain chic. Think mid-length wool coat, matching trousers, a stars-and-stripes Polo sweater, a gold-buckled belt, chunky brown boots, and a knit ear-flap hat made for serious snow-ready style.<\/p>\n<p>Ralph Lauren cranked up the retro ski energy for their Closing Ceremony ensembles with bold, color-blocked puffer jackets \u2014 fiery red shoulders, a crisp white center stamped with \u201c2026\u201d and \u201cUSA,\u201d and a deep navy hem to ground it all. <\/p>\n<p>Winter-ready extras include a Team USA beanie, white utility pants, chunky brown boots, graphic mittens and a red-white-and-blue knit sweater flashing classic Olympic logos. It\u2019s full-on, flag-waving flair set to steal the spotlight in Milan this February.<\/p>\n<p>Ralph Lauren dialed up the retro ski vibes for the Closing Ceremony with bold color-blocked puffers \u2014 blazing red shoulders, crisp white fronts stamped with \u201c2026\u201d and \u201cUSA,\u201d and navy hems to anchor the look.<\/p>\n<p>Adding to the all-American vibe, Ferrara in Long Island City, NYC, crafted the Opening Ceremony toggle coat and trousers, while the red-white-and-blue Closing Ceremony down jackets were made by Better Team in Clifton, New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>Red Gerard, 25, the youngest American snowboarder to win Olympic gold at 17, said he\u2019s thrilled about the collection and its <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/01\/20\/ralph-lauren-unveils-team-usas-opening-olympic-uniforms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">all-American craftsmanship.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving clothes made here in the U.S. is really cool and it\u2019s so organic for Ralph Lauren to be partnering with Team USA and for us athletes to be wearing it in the Opening and Closing ceremonies,\u201d Gerard told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>He admitted he\u2019s a \u201csucker for a good sweater and a good Christmas-style sweater,\u201d naming the Opening Ceremony sweater as his favorite pick. <\/p>\n<p>Paralympic champ Brenna Huckaby (L), snowboard star Red Gerard (R), and Ralph Lauren\u2019s David Lauren (center) are all smiles over the collection\u2019s red-white-and-blue flair and homegrown craftsmanship. Matthew McDermott<\/p>\n<p>And when it comes to mixing and matching? Gerard said he plans to bring these pieces into his everyday wardrobe \u2014 a nod to how Ralph Lauren has helped him level up his streetwear style.<\/p>\n<p>Three-time Paralympic gold medalist Brenna Huckaby called the Closing Ceremony pieces \u201cchef\u2019s kiss.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love this Polo Ralph Lauren Team USA Closing Ceremony sweater\u2026 and the women\u2019s jacket. I think these two are going to be repeat offenders in my closet for sure and I will rewear them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Huckaby also joked about the unofficial competition she\u2019ll be having with other countries: \u201cOne big part about the competition is seeing the other nations\u2019 uniforms and acknowledging that ours are way cooler. I feel very confident that we\u2019re going to win the uniform competition before we actually compete.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Proudly made on U.S. soil, these all-American uniforms aren\u2019t shy about waving the flag: like bold red, white, and blue, star motifs, and details that scream hometown pride. Matthew McDermott<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the slopes, she said the pieces are easy to mix, match, and wear with her bolder athleisure looks \u2014 from gym to apr\u00e8s-ski.<\/p>\n<p>David Lauren, Chief Branding and Innovation Officer at Ralph Lauren, said the uniforms are \u201cabout optimism and hope\u2026 Every Olympics is different. So much of each story comes from the athletes and who they are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From graphic sweaters and shearling jackets to puffer coats, printed fleece, and retro hockey-inspired pieces, every item is built to turn heads on and off the slopes. Matthew McDermott<\/p>\n<p>Lauren said the process took \u201c2.5 years trying to get to know the athletes and to understand what the story will be in Milan and what they wanted to talk about.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cThere is a timelessness to these uniforms. We created clothes that are made to endure and last and be a part of history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Collaboration was key: every stitch, fabric and cut was tested with the athletes to make sure the uniforms were both stylish and functional for life on and off the podium. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to create pieces that are very Ralph Lauren but also appropriate for the team,\u201d Lauren said. \u201cIt\u2019s a bigger story than just the athletes.
