{"id":424816,"date":"2025-12-04T20:03:16","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T20:03:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/424816\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T20:03:16","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T20:03:16","slug":"puregym-renames-former-blink-fitness-gyms-in-ny-nj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/424816\/","title":{"rendered":"PureGym Renames Former Blink Fitness Gyms in NY &#038; NJ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                        After acquiring bankrupt Blink Fitness, PureGym has opened upgraded clubs across New York and New Jersey as it steps into competition with Planet Fitness and Crunch Fitness<\/p>\n<p>PureGym is escalating the battle for budget-gym members in the Northeast with 56 newly opened and converted former Blink Fitness sites across New York and New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>The rollout follows PureGym\u2019s $121 million\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/puregym-selected-as-bidder-in-121m-cash-deal-for-blink-fitness\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(opens in a new tab)\">acquisition of Blink Fitness<\/a>\u00a0last year after the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/blink-fitness-files-for-bankruptcy\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(opens in a new tab)\">Equinox-owned chain\u00a0had filed for bankruptcy<\/a>\u00a0and drew a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/planet-fitness-makes-play-for-blink-fitness-in-last-minute-bid\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(opens in a new tab)\">last-minute bid<\/a>\u00a0from rival high-value low-price giant Planet Fitness.<\/p>\n<p>PureGym ultimately secured the deal and has since upgraded and rebranded every location under its banner.<\/p>\n<p>The transaction also included Pennsylvania-area Blink Fitness gyms, although PureGym has not yet detailed its timeline for those sites. In the New York and New Jersey market, most locations will offer full 24\/7 access, with the remaining clubs following in the coming months, PureGym confirms.<\/p>\n<p>Low-Price Gyms Are Booming<\/p>\n<p>The launch comes as value-focused gyms notch some of the strongest growth in the industry and <a href=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/gen-z-personal-training-drive-continued-growth-for-hvlp-gyms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">draws continued interest from Gen Z fitness consumers who are looking for a deal and flexible hours<\/a>. The Health &amp; Fitness Association\u2019s latest FIT Tracker shows\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/us-gym-visits-climb-again-in-q3-hfa-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">high-value, low-price (HVLP) and mid-priced operators hit record visitation in the third quarter<\/a>, with average facility traffic up more than 4% year-over-year.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/life-time-brooklyn-gowanus\/\" aria-label=\"Life Time To Lead Wellness Vision for Brooklyn\u2019s New Mixed-Use Project\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/p>\n<p>                            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/LT_Games-400x300.webp.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" class=\"tpd-card-media\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>    \t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<p>PureGym members can expect a full slate of strength-training equipment, including free weights, barbells, racks and assisted machines, along with treadmills, ski ergs, rowers and access to certified personal trainers. Monthly rates range from $24.99 to $39 with flexible memberships that can be paused or terminated at any time. Single-day passes are also available.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/PG_1124_12204301_2025CAMPAIGN_Sled_01_RGB-768x512.webp.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-137435\" style=\"width:609px;height:auto\"\/>credit: PureGym<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe everyone should have access to high-quality fitness, at any time they want and we\u2019re committed to making that possible for New Yorkers,\u201d PureGym group chief operating officer Rebecca Passmore said. \u201cOur mission is to inspire healthier nations and we are thrilled to finally bring the city that never sleeps a true 24\/7 affordable way to prioritize their well-being.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Three PureGym locations (54th St. in Manhattan, Canarsie in Brooklyn and Woodside in Queens) have an extra layer of upgrades, including turf with sleds, hack squat machines, Olympic weight lifting machines, dumbbells up to 110 pounds, assault bikes and a mix of slam balls and wall balls. The sites will act as pilot locations to gauge how members respond to the expanded strength and hybrid training setup.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.puregym.com\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(opens in a new tab)\">PureGym<\/a> plans to build on that momentum in the New Year with additional improvements across its portfolio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can PureGym Make Inroads in the US?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While best known as one of Europe\u2019s largest HVLP operators, PureGym has had a small presence in the U.S., with three Washington D.C. area sites operating under the Pure Fitness name.
