Justin Baldoni called out Blake Lively for playing the victim on the set of \u201cIt Ends With Us,\u201d calling it \u201cthe Taylor Swift playbook.\u201d<\/p>\n
In court documents released and obtained by Page Six Thursday, Baldoni was asked during his deposition<\/a> about the Jan. 3 meeting, where Lively detailed the conditions needed for her to return to set.<\/p>\n At the time, she had already spoken to HR about feeling uncomfortable around Baldoni, 41, and producer\u00a0Jamey Heath.<\/p>\n As a response to the \u201ctraumatizing\u201d meeting, the \u201cJane the Virgin\u201d actor wrote to a friend group that included actor Rainn Wilson and singer Andy Grammer, \u201c[Lively] had the nuclear bomb. <\/p>\n Justin Baldoni called out Blake Lively for playing the victim on the set of \u201cIt Ends With Us.\u201d GC Images<\/p>\n He called it the \u201cTaylor Swift playbook.\u201d GC Images<\/p>\n \u201cIf she doesn\u2019t promote the movie, she can leak that I\u2019m a bad person or that she felt unsafe with me and all the stuff she has on me. It\u2019s the Taylor Swift playbook,\u201d he said, referencing the singer\u2019s reputation for \u201cplaying the victim\u201d in her feuds.<\/p>\n \u201cSo she can ask for whatever she wants because she knows I know.\u201d<\/p>\n At the time, Baldoni had stated that Lively, as well as Ryan Reynolds and Swift, were more influential in Hollywood than he was and therefore, they controlled the movie\u2019s success<\/a>.<\/p>\n He confessed to Michael Gottlieb, who represents Lively and was questioning him during the deposition, \u201cI think when you are somebody small in the industry like myself, and you\u2019re dealing with a titan like Ms. Lively and some of the most powerful people in the world, which are her best friends, and you\u2019re in the situation that I was in, I think it\u2019s very reasonable, especially at this point, to be concerned about what\u2019s possible and what\u2019s not. I \u2014 I was spinning at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n The comment arose during his October deposition. GC Images<\/p>\n In fact, Baldoni had wanted to depose Swift <\/a>in his trial against Lively, but was dropped<\/a> in a surprising move. Nonetheless, the legal battle caused a rift between Lively and Swift<\/a>, who have been friends for several years.<\/p>\n In her list of 17 demands for her to be able to return to set of \u201cIt Ends With Us\u201d comfortably, Lively asked that an \u201cintimacy coordinator must be present at all times when [she] is on set,\u201d as well that the set be closed when any nudity or sex scenes were being filmed. <\/p>\n She also demanded that no improvisation be allowed when it came to intimate scenes, that she not be touched when she was not filming a scene and that no comments about her physical appearance be made outside of her character portrayal.<\/p>\n Lively and Swift have been friends for many years. GC Images<\/p>\n On Thursday, Lively demanded she get \u201cher day in court\u201d <\/a>after Baldoni requested to dismiss her lawsuit against him.<\/p>\n She slammed his request as nothing more than his \u201clatest effort to avoid accountability for the hostile environment\u201d on set.<\/p>\n The heavily redacted 76-page court document accused the \u201cFive Feet Apart\u201d director and his co-defendants of \u201cthrowing the kitchen sink at Lively\u2019s sexual harassment and retaliation claims.\u201d<\/p>\n Her attorneys also noted that his team \u201csupercharged\u201d negative \u201cnarratives\u201d about Lively, who was turned into a \u201cbully\u201d when she was just \u201ca\u00a0mother of four<\/a>\u00a0with decades of experience in the industry who simply sought a safe and respectful workplace.\u201d<\/p>\n Lively recently demanded that she get her \u201cday in court\u201d after he requested to dismiss her lawsuit.
