{"id":425190,"date":"2025-12-04T23:47:11","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T23:47:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/425190\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T23:47:11","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T23:47:11","slug":"grand-jury-refuses-to-reindict-letitia-james-10-days-after-initial-charges-were-dismissed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/425190\/","title":{"rendered":"Grand jury refuses to reindict Letitia James 10 days after initial charges were dismissed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON (TNND)  \u2014 A grand jury on Thursday refused to indict New York Attorney General Letitia James after reconsidering a mortgage fraud case against her for the second time, according to multiple reports.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes 10 days after <a href=\"https:\/\/thenationaldesk.com\/news\/americas-news-now\/judge-dismisses-indictments-against-james-comey-letitia-james-former-fbi-director-new-york-attorney-general-lindsey-halligan-us-attorney-virginia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. District Judge Cameron McGowan Currie dismissed the initial charges against her<\/a> &#8212; as well as charges against former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director James Comey. <\/p>\n<p>The federal judge concluded that the interim U.S. attorney who brought the charges, Lindsey Halligan, was unlawfully appointed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"FILE - New York Attorney General Letitia James speaks during a news conference outside Manhattan federal court in New York, Feb. 14, 2025.
