ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) \u2014 Daniel T. Pickett III has been appointed as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Albany Med Health System.<\/p>\n
The Board of Directors announced that Pickett will replace Dennis P. McKenna, who served for 28 years, including five years as CEO. Raimundo \u201cRai\u201d C. Archibold Jr. has been named chair of the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n
Pickett has been a member of the Board since 2012 and served as chair since July 2025. He will continue to work with the leadership team to advance the System\u2019s strategy and patient care.<\/p>\n
The Albany Med Health System is undergoing a transformation to become the region\u2019s most trusted and highest quality integrated health system, according to a statement. It serves a population of 3 million people across northeastern New York and western New England.<\/p>\n

He also serves as a trustee at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Albany Med Health System has extraordinary strengths as an academic medical center, a respected medical college, aligned community hospitals, and an exceptional workforce,\u201d Pickett said. \u201cOur future will be built on deeper system integration, physician alignment, academic distinction, and innovation across our ambulatory and hospital care delivery network.
