He said the company has hustled to keep business going.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cI\u2019ve had customers that we\u2019ve had to reach back out to and say, \u2018Hey, I haven\u2019t had an order from you in a month, or two or three or four,\u2019\u201d Nicholas said. \u201cAnd they\u2019re like, \u2018It\u2019s just hard to get into Jacksonville.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a class=\"link  yahoo-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/woman-hit-two-vehicles-jacksonville-164631822.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Woman hit by two vehicles in Jacksonville dies;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Woman hit by two vehicles in Jacksonville dies <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The city said in a post on Wednesday that the recent closures of Roma Italian Restaurant, Starbucks and Slim Chickens are disappointing but to be expected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWe don\u2019t like to see anybody lose a business. But as a city, we like to look long term,\u201d Birch said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Once completed, a two-and-a-half-mile stretch of what was highway 67 and interstate 67 widens from three lanes to six.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The project also adds three new bridges and a new overpass.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Nicholas said while the project comes with growing pains for some businesses, he believes the unique city of Jacksonville needs the improvement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cIf we don\u2019t take care of that airbase and the infrastructure right here \u2014 Jacksonville is going to perish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
