He can\u2019t trade, deposit, or withdraw funds. <\/p>\n<p>And a painful back-and-forth with the customer support hasn\u2019t solved the issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He added that he hasn\u2019t been granted access. This was despite submitting the requested personal data, including a 15-year work history, to prove his source of income.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As a result, he <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/weideyyds\/status\/1941089480666218798\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow external noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">warned<\/a> other users to ditch the exchange to avoid the poor and frustrating experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cRegardless of whether your OKX account is currently in normal status, I suggest you withdraw your funds. If one day your account gets frozen, will you take the risk or not?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>OKX CEO clarifies compliance pressure<\/p>\n<p>In response, OKX CEO, Star Xu, apologized, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/star_okx\/status\/1941334643548238309\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow external noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">stating<\/a> that there have been issues of high \u2018false-positives\u2019 with its strict compliance system.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe acknowledge that issues such as high false-positive rates and suboptimal user experience in the information collection process still exist during compliance and risk control operations.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-05-164052.png\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-508539\" class=\"size-full wp-image-508539\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"OKX\" width=\"591\" height=\"581\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-05-164052.png\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-508539\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Star Xu\/X<\/p>\n<p>Xu added that they have a global compliance and risk control team of 600 members to help accurately flag and remove malicious actors. <\/p>\n<p>He further noted that using VPNs or the Tor browser from a sanctioned area will prompt a request for extra personal data.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, he added that even global risk systems are still prone to \u201cfalse positives.\u201d They can flag an innocent user as malicious, adding that they are working to optimize the process.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In March, the firm\u2019s DEX (decentralized exchange) OKX Web 3 wallet was wrongly <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/okx-in-the-clear-exchange-denies-laundering-stolen-eth-from-bybit-hack\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">flagged<\/a> for aiding hackers to launder about $100M of the $1.5 billion stolen from the Bybit exchange.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As a global crypto exchange with operations even in the U.S., OKX faces stricter regulatory scrutiny, especially for anti-money laundering (AML).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, Binance exchange was slapped with a <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/bnb-remains-stable-as-judge-approves-binances-4-3b-plea-deal\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">$4.3 billion fine<\/a> for flouting AML regulations, by allowing even sanctioned countries like Iran on the platform.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As such, OKX\u2019s strict control process makes sense, but it shouldn\u2019t strain the user experience. That said, the exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/exchanges\/okx\/?type=perpetual\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow external noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">ranked<\/a> second after Binance in terms of derivatives trading volume ($19B).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As of June, OKX <a href=\"https:\/\/www.okx.com\/proof-of-reserves\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow external noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">reported<\/a> handling $28.4 billion in digital assets and a total of 127,111 <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/bitcoin-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Bitcoin [BTC]<\/a>.
